Compiled upon request of the Provincial Government of Friesland in commemoration of the Pieter Stuyvesant Festival at Wolvega, Friesland, July 12-16 1955 by Martha Eerdmans, chief of the devision of archives The Province of Friesland.

Peter Stuyvesant (* 1611 Peperga) his father moves to a thriving village on the Frisian clay soil and the boy goes to the acadamy or university Franeker in the little town a few miles away. He does not, however, complete his studies. He becomes Director General of New Amsterdam 1647 – 1664. [pagina 8]
